Exercises for neck pain
You may need exercises for neck pain if you have upper cross syndrome, which is a type of bad posture. Exercises for neck pain need to predominantly strengthen the muscles of the back and rota-tor cuffs.
Here are my 5 best exercises for neck pain
1) Wall Angels
This is harder than it looks. It works your lower abdominal and all of the weakened muscles which will cause you neck pain. I would say this is one of the best exercises for neck pain. Keep your lower back flat and fully follow the instructions on the video down to the letter.
2) Cobra
This is another difficult exercise but easier than the wall angel. You may actualy do this exercise first and than progress to a wall angel depending on badly rounded your shoulders are.
TOP TIP. Make sure you are moving from your upper back and not your lower back when raising your chest up.
3) Rotator cuff exercises
These exercises are very important for gaining good posture to alleviate neck pain. This is one of the assistant exercises for neck pain, and accompanies exercise 1 and 2 very nicely. You must maintain strict form in order to gain the benefits from this exercise.
This video talks about volley ball players but the exercises for neck pain are relevant to non volley
4) Rows
In order to gain the right posture to take away your neck pain and bad posture you must do this exercise.
TOP TIP: Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end of the movement when your arms have stopped moving.
5) Scaption
Last but not least is Scaption. This is a great exercise to gain control of the shoulder blades. It is a great exercise for people with shoulder pain but I am including as one of the exercises for neck pain because it will improve your posture. By improving posture your neck pain will go away, so please try this exercise.
